Obafemi Otudeko is the Group Executive Director of the Honeywell Group. He joined the Honeywell Group in 2003 as a Senior Manager in the Oil and Gas projects group with responsibility for strategy and business development in the upstream oil and gas Industry. Obafemi is currently responsible for managing Honeywell Group Limited, which is the investment management company within Honeywell Group, focussed on capital management, portfolio optimisation and value creation for the shareholders of Honeywell Group companies. He also has direct oversight over the Group’s non-operating Portfolio Investments.
He has led several key initiatives within the Group, including chairing the IPO Committee responsible for the successful capital market listing, and capital raising for the Group’s flour milling subsidiary. He also coordinated the Group’s efforts in the completion, capital raising and opening of the five-star Radisson Blu Hotel in Lagos. He has been instrumental in negotiating and structuring several partnership agreements between the Group and a range of partners.
Obafemi had his professional training at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), where he led and managed assignments providing Assurance, Internal Audit & Risk Management, and Business Advisory services across different industry segments (Oil & Gas; Consumer, industrial & products & services), before specialising in the Financial Services Industry practice of the firm. Obafemi is also a non-Executive Director of First Bank of Nigeria Ltd, Honeywell Flour Mills Plc and Anchorage Leisures Limited, owners of the Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island. He also previously served on the Board of Directors of Airtel Nigeria (Airtel Networks Limited).
Obafemi obtained his BA (Hons) in Accountancy Studies from the University of Huddersfield, UK. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA). He has attended several executive education learning programmes on Corporate Leadership, General Management and Corporate Finance. He is an Alumnus of the London Business School and Insead Business School. Obafemi is a member of the UK Energy Institute and was the second Vice President of the Nigerian Gas Association between 2011 and 2015.
Obafemi is married with two sons and his interests include horse riding, playing polo, watching football and reading.
